Ministry Description

Head of the Edify (Small Group) Ministry. Oversees and maintains the operations of the adult small/cell group ministry of OCAC ESM. To encourage others to see the value of fellowship and to participate in fellowship. To work in synergy and harmony with all other ESM departments as well as the church and thus contribute to the overall growth of OCAC. Works with and accountable to ESM Pastor and ESM Team.

Responsibilities

Works with ESM Pastor and ESM Team to establish and promote the goals of the church among small groups.

To represent the interests of the small group leaders to the church leadership.

To coordinate meetings and schedules with small group leaders and facilitate the monthly small group leader meetings.

To support the small group leaders and promote the health of all small groups.

To update and upkeep the Small Group Ministry bulletin board with current information.

To update and upkeep a list of all current small group members including email address and life status.

To facilitate regular communication with the ESM through small group leaders using medium inclusive of electronic mail.

To update and upkeep the Small Group Leader’s Manual.

To attend monthly ESM prayer meetings.

To attend monthly ESMT (deacon board) meetings and provide reports for the small group ministry.

Ministry Description

To lead, oversee and maintain an OCAC ESM Small/Cell Group for a period of 2 years. Works with and accountable to Edify Deacon and ESM Pastor.

Responsibilities

To provide leadership and shepherding to small group members as an extension of the ESM Pastor in a framework of a regular small group gathering.

To lead or to delegate and oversee the leading of a small group gathering (i.e., Bible study, other structured activities).

To care for each small group member personally to the best of one’s ability and to pray for each member as appropriate.

To promote awareness of small groups.

To promote the goals of the church and the ESM to small group members.

To be the “link” between individual ESM church members and the church leadership by represent the interests of the respective small group’s members.

To promote outreach in the small group in order to connect as many people as possible and to promote the birthing of new small groups when appropriate.

To promote spiritual growth of each small group member in the context of fellowship.

To mentor and train up an assistant capable of leading his/her own group in the future.

To attend monthly small group leader’s meetings and report on the progress of the small group.
