ESM Adult Sunday School*
(January - April, 2008)
C.L.A.S.S. 101 – Discovering Church Membership & Baptismal Class
(PART I & II) (Matthew N.)
In Part I, we will be studying the book ‘Discipleship Essentials,
focusing on the first 6 studies dealing with understanding
salvation, the meaning of baptism and Holy Communion. Later on, in
Part II, the Christian & Missionary Alliance history & thought, and
the Four-fold gospel will be incorporated in a 3-hour afternoon
session with Pastor Daniel, which is mandatory for all baptismal
candidates and transfer of membership candidates.
C.L.A.S.S. 201 – Discovering Spiritual Maturity (Audrey TAL)
This course is the second series of the Life Development Process and
is for those who are members of the OCAC family. It will focus on
the Four Basic Habits that every Christian needs to develop in order
to grow spiritually mature. It will equip you with the skills that
you need to cultivate and sustain them throughout your life. The
prerequisite for this course is C.L.A.S.S. 101.
C.L.A.S.S. 329 – NT Study: Revelation (Sam S. and John L.)
In this Sunday school class, we will walk through the Book of
Revelation
together. Revelation is the final book of the Bible. It is different
from
the other books in the Bible in terms of its writing style and
content. Most
people find Revelation hard to understand because John uses a lot of
apocalyptic imageries in his writing. But in Rev 1:3, God promised
"Blessed
is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are
those who
hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is
near."
This class will offer exegetical and background information on the
text, and
attempt to unveil various prophetic themes that tie the book
together by
reading the book chapter by chapter.
C.L.A.S.S. 401 – Discovering My Life Mission (Kandice F.
and Pastor Daniel)
This course is the last of our ESM Life Development Process series
at the OCAC. After you have discovered your SHAPE and are serving at
the church, you are now ready to embark on a most exciting journey –
that of making disciples of all nations. Every Christian is
created, saved and called to be light of the world and salt of the
earth. What a privilege! What a responsibility! The truth is simple:
If Christians do not share Jesus Christ with the world, no one will!
The purpose of this class is for you to: Clarify the gospel message,
Identify the styles of personal evangelism and be challenged to
impact your world for Jesus Christ. We will also be looking at
Missions and how we can get involved. Pre-requisites: CLASS 101, 201
and 301.
C.L.A.S.S. 506 – Love to Pray - An adventure in Prayer (Vien L. and Miranda K.)
This class aims to bring us closer to growing a culture of prayer
that is natural, spontaneous, and goes beyond the surface. In a
small group atmosphere (max 3 people), we'll be going through daily
devotionals that focus on prayer, to provide greater discipline in
our prayer lives. Most importantly, we'll be devoting a large chunk
of time to pray, in particular, for those in our lives who do not
yet know Christ. Some prayer applications that we'll be taking on in
the class, will be: praying through the Scripture, prayer triplets,
and prayer walks.
* All classes are taken place from 11:15 am - 12:45 pm at the
Somerset Community Centre. |
